What is it?
Horizontal Directional Drilling
the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is an advanced method that allows the installation of subway pipelines with high precision without the need for surface excavation. It is widely used in crossings under roads, rivers, railways and congested urban areas where conventional excavation is not feasible.
This process consists of three main stages:
- Pilot drillingA drill head equipped with localization technology is introduced, which allows following a predefined path with high precision.
- Tunnel widening:Reamers of different sizes are used to progressively increase the diameter of the tunnel, adapting it to the pipe to be installed.
- Piping installation:Una vez que el túnel ha alcanzado el diámetro requerido, la tubería se introduce de manera controlada hasta su posición final.
Types of equipment in PHD
Depending on the capacity of the project, different types of equipment are used:
- Compact equipment for short boreholes and small diameter pipes (up to 6 inches), ideal for urban areas with space restrictions.
Medium capacity machines used in road and small river crossings, with intermediate pipe diameters.
Equipos de alta potencia diseñados para perforaciones de gran longitud y tuberías de gran diámetro (hasta 60 pulgadas), empleados en cruces de ríos caudalosos y autopistas.

Advantages
From PHD
- High precision:
It allows precise directional control, ensuring the success of the installation.
- Minimal environmental impact:
No genera alteraciones en la superficie ni afecta ecosistemas naturales.
- Reduction in restoration costs:
Evita la necesidad de reconstruir pavimentos o infraestructuras afectadas.
- Safety and efficiency:
Reduces labor risks and shortens project execution times.
Our Services
Auger Boring
It is a horizontal drilling technique, by means of an Auger mechanism for the extraction of material,
Horizontal directional drilling
Technique that allows the installation of subway pipelines with absolute control over the drilling trajectory.
Pipe ramming
Technology What is it? It is a trenchless (trenchless) pipe installation technique used to drive horizontally steel pipes from 10“ to 64” in diameter.
Pipe Bursting
The rehabilitation or renovation of supply and sanitation pipes usually generates great inconveniences. The pipe renovation technique is presented as an innovative alternative to carry out these changes.
